FIELDS WINDOW
- In this new window, you will see all the fields in this table. Here
you select which fields you want to display in your Search, Results, and
Detail pages.
- Click and drag your mouse over the columns and rows to be selected,
then press Enter Or Space to select/deselect them. (Also note the
buttons for selecting all the Search, List, and Detail fields in one
click)
- You may customize the the displayed name of each field on the
resulting page by double clicking on the cell in the 'Display Name'
column
- To create lookups, click the cell in the "Lookup Table" column in
the row of field you would like to lookup, then click the little table
button on the right of the cell. A new window will open.
- LOOKUP WINDOW
- In the 'Lookup Table' column, select on the table that contains
the lookup values.
- Select the primary key of the lookup table in the 'Lookup Field
ID' column.
- Optionally, you can select any two other fields to be displayed
along with the primary key field data by selecting them in the Field
Value 1 and Field Value 2 cells.
- In the 'Sort By' column, select the field you would like the
display to be sorted by.
- In the 'Display Style' column, select either drop-down menu or
radio button style for your lookup.
- Your lookup will appear on the pages you check in the next three
corresponding columns: Search Page, List Page, and Detail Page.
- Note: If you are getting the "Allow Zero Length" error using a MS
Access database, you need to change this property for all text fields
in your database.
- If you have images in one of your fields, click on the adjoining
cell in the 'Image' column to specify if the images are stored in a file
system or inside the database. Using File System - putting links to
images in your databases instead of embedding the actual images - is
preferable for a high quantity of images, or if you expect high traffic
and usage of your pages.
- Click the cell in the 'Formatting' column to specify the format
DB2ASP should use to display the data of each field.
